In this article, you will learn:
1. How to obtain the C1 class identification label for your Mavic 3 / Mavic 3 Cine (Steps 1–5).
2. Which prerequisites apply (DJI Fly & Firmware, DJI account).
3. What technically changes after the update (83 dB, ActiveTrack 50 m, LED logic).
4. Important notes (irreversible; not for Mavic 3 Enterprise/Thermal).
5. Why an A2 certificate is still useful despite C1.
Step 1 – Important Software Updates
Update DJI Fly to version 1.9.0+. Bring Mavic 3 / Mavic 3 Cine to firmware 01.00.0900+. DJI account logged into the app.

Step 2 – Start C1 Application in the App
After the firmware update, a popup for C1 identification appears – tap on "Apply". Alternatively: Profile → Service & Support → Class C1 Identification Label.

Step 3 – Submit Short Form
Fill out and submit the short application form. The C1 label will be delivered by mail (without tracking; delivery time depends on location).

Step 4 – Apply Label & Upload Proof
Stick the C1 label onto the drone according to the instructions. Upload a photo of the labeled drone in the app:
Fly → Profile → Service & Support → Class C1 Identification Label.

Step 5 – Download Certificate
The C1 certificate appears in the Fly app within approximately 3 working days. Download it and carry it with you during flight operations.

What Changes After the C1 Update?
- Noise Level: meets 83 dB.
- ActiveTrack: Tracking of people/objects up to 50 m; deactivated beyond that.
- Auxiliary LEDs: switch on automatically depending on flight conditions.
- Front LEDs: flash by default from activation until power off.
Important Notes
- The process is irreversible – no rollback possible.
- Does not apply to Mavic 3 Enterprise and Mavic 3 Thermal.
Optional: A2 Still Useful
C1 reduces requirements but does not replace practical and legal knowledge. The A2 certificate expands operational possibilities and increases flight safety.
