TRAINING DETAILS:

Theoretical online training with final exam

For pilots who operate C2-classified drones with a maximum take-off mass of 4 kg, the full drone license, also called the A2 remote pilot certificate, is legally required. The UAS may then fly horizontally up to 30 m from uninvolved persons. If the drone’s slow mode is activated, the distance can be reduced to as little as 5 meters.

The A2 remote pilot certificate is of great importance for remote pilots who want to fly their unmanned aircraft in densely populated areas or closer to people. It is also the basis for special flight authorizations. It requires a deeper understanding of safety protocols, legal frameworks, and technical skills.

The EU A2 remote pilot certificate documents the competence of remote pilots according to point UAS.OPEN.030 of EU Regulation 2019/947 and is valid in all EU member states. This also includes Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.

The participant acquires the knowledge and skills required to safely conduct flights in the Open category A2. This category is intended for individuals who want to fly drones within visual line of sight under certain limitations (information below).

Online course (self-study)

You receive digital training materials from Pro Fly Center and can work through them conveniently at your own pace. The content was created by subject-matter experts according to EASA and national NAA guidelines. Once you have worked through the material and feel ready for the exam, you can select one of the listed dates and register for the exam. This training is ideal for aspiring pilots who want to learn flexibly while saving costs.

Digital course (especially for companies with groups of 3–12 participants)

For authorities, companies, agencies, clubs, or even a group of friends, we offer this professional form of online learning—which we have successfully conducted many times with our license courses—on a mutually agreed date. Together with an experienced instructor and practitioner, you go through all materials and topics in a 3–4 hour session, have time for questions, and can discuss content in more depth. This is the most convenient format for people who like to learn in a team and with a teacher. Immediately after the course, participants take the exam so they can quickly apply the knowledge they have acquired.

Important note: Since each participant must be examined in an individual session, participants take the exam for the A2 remote pilot certificate immediately after the course or in the following days (by appointment). More information under Exam!

  • To apply for a remote pilot certificate to operate in subcategory A2, an EU certificate of competency from subcategory A1 or A3 is required.
