Automated systems such as DJI Dock greatly reduce the need for manual intervention during flight operations. They enable remote monitoring of flights — even when the control center is located hundreds of kilometers from the mission site. In practice, DJI Dock systems are ideal wherever regular, systematic flying is required: daily solar-park inspections, cyclical monitoring of construction or wind farms, and ongoing site progress control. These systems add significant value for safety and project documentation alike.

A pilot who completes the program is fully qualified to:

• Plan, execute, and monitor flights independently
• Create and maintain Operations Manual documentation
• Implement safety, technical, and monitoring procedures within an organization
• Coordinate a team of drone pilots for automated operations
• Train additional pilots within the organization

The training is available in two variants:

• Standard (4 days): For pilots without a European STS license.
• Accelerated (2 days): For pilots who already hold a European STS license.

The curriculum is designed according to EASA requirements and the DJI Dock manufacturer’s specifications. It includes all essential elements of a typical Operations Manual, as required, for example, to obtain approval for BVLOS flights up to 20 km in populated areas.

The day concludes with an LBA exam consisting of 60 questions to be completed within 90 minutes.

Hands-on exercises and critical workflows, including:

• Pre-flight activities
• In-flight procedures
• Post-flight activities
• Recognizing and managing hazardous situations

The day ends with a competency assessment. Upon passing, participants receive the full European STS-02 license.

• Data processing
• Practical drills for hazardous scenarios

The day concludes with a competency evaluation by a certified PFC instructor.

Additionally covered:

• Preparing OM-compliant documentation, including checklists, records, and procedures
• Developing the Operations Manual (OM)
• Advanced SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment)
• Crew Resource Management (CRM)
• Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC)

The day ends with a 30-question exam (60 minutes). After passing, you receive the certification required to conduct and coordinate automated flights independently.

Certificates document the skills and qualifications of pilots and coordinators of automated flights and help meet Part-D OM requirements — especially during approval processes. After successfully completing the course, participants are authorized to conduct basic DJI Dock missions within the European standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02 without notifying the LBA — provided the intended operation fully complies with the legal framework.
