Can I fly the Matrice 5TD without a dock?

The Matrice 5TD is designed for automated operation with DJI Dock 4 and is controlled via DJI FlightHub 2 or the DJI Enterprise App. If you are looking for a drone for manual operation with a remote controller, we will be happy to advise you on a suitable alternative.

What is the difference between the Matrice 4TD and the Matrice 5TD?

The Matrice 5TD doubles the thermal resolution (1280 × 1024 instead of 640 × 512) and offers a laser rangefinder with 3 km instead of 1.8 km, 50 MP instead of 48 MP cameras, built-in LiDAR and radar, and 17 instead of 3 AI detection categories. It works with DJI Dock 4, while the Matrice 4TD works with DJI Dock 3.

When will the Matrice 5TD be available?

The DJI Matrice 5TD is available for pre-order now. Pre-order customers are the first to hear from us as soon as delivery dates are confirmed.

Do I need an authorisation to operate it?

Automated flights beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) generally require an operational authorisation in the specific category. We support you with training, the operations manual and SORA all the way to your authorisation.
